The same odds may be shown in three formats — it is important to understand them.
Decimal Odds
The most common format. Total return = stake × odds. Example: 3.00 means a ৳100 bet returns ৳300 (৳200 profit + ৳100 stake).
৳500 bet → if you win, ৳1,500 is returned (৳1,000 profit + ৳500 stake). If you lose, ৳500 is gone.
৳500 bet → if you win, ৳900 is returned (৳400 profit).
Fractional Odds
British format — represents profit relative to the stake. 2/1 means ৳2 profit on a ৳1 bet. The equivalent in decimal odds is 3.00.
Equal to decimal 3.00. ৳500 bet gives ৳1,000 profit, total ৳1,500.
Equal to decimal 1.80. ৳500 bet gives ৳400 profit, total ৳900.
American Odds
Plus (+) means the profit on a ৳100 win; minus (−) means how much you need to bet to make ৳100 profit.
Equal to decimal 3.00. ৳500 bet gives ৳1,000 profit.
Equal to decimal 1.80 — a ৳125 bet is needed to make ৳100 profit.
